1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of glubenin.org/convent-2027, published by the United Grand Lodge of Benin for the General Assembly / Convent 2027, held from 22 to 27 February 2027 in Cotonou.
Using the portal and submitting a registration constitute acceptance of these terms.
2. Free of charge
No fee, at any stage
Registration for the Convent, the access badge and the invitation letter are free of charge. The GLUB mandates no intermediary to sell, expedite or guarantee a registration. No sum should be paid to anyone.
The following remain the responsibility of the participant: travel costs, accommodation, any consular fees and personal expenses on site.
3. Registration
3.1 Who may register
Registration is open to Brothers and Sisters of masonic obediences and to the official delegations invited. Your standing as a participant is verified by the Organising Committee from the obedience, lodge and office declared.
3.2 Accuracy of information
The participant undertakes to provide accurate and up-to-date information, in particular the spelling of their identity, which must match their travel document. An inaccurate declaration may lead to the badge being refused at the door or to a consular file being rejected.
3.3 Validation
Every registration is subject to validation by the Organising Committee, which may refuse it without stating reasons, in particular where the declared affiliation cannot be verified. Refusal gives rise to no compensation.
3.4 Changes and cancellation
Participants may change certain details from their participant area and cancel their registration at any time. Cancellation releases the registration number, revokes the badge and ends any invitation letter request in progress.
4. Access badge
- The badge is personal and non-transferable: it may not be lent or passed on.
- It is required at every entrance to the proceedings.
- Its QR code contains an opaque control identifier, with no personal data in clear text.
- The Committee may revoke a badge in the event of fraudulent use, without notice.
5. Invitation letter
Mandatory notice
The invitation letter is intended to accompany, where necessary, a visa application file. It does not constitute a guarantee that a visa will be granted; that decision rests exclusively with the competent authorities.
- The letter is drawn up only after the registration has been validated.
- It is issued free of charge, on request made through the registration form.
- It is strictly personal and may not be altered by its recipient.
- Any falsification exposes its author to the penalties provided by law and results in immediate cancellation of the registration.
The Organising Committee plays no part in the visa procedure and cannot be held responsible for a refusal, a delay or a cost borne by the participant.
6. Participant area
Access to the participant area is protected by a personal password. The participant is responsible for keeping it confidential. The Committee will never ask for this password, through any channel.
The session closes automatically after thirty minutes of inactivity, to protect the documents it holds.
7. Use of the portal
The following are prohibited:
- submitting a registration in someone else's name without their agreement;
- attempting to reach areas or data one is not entitled to;
- automating requests in a way that disrupts the service;
- reproducing the visual identity of the GLUB to create a site or message imitating the official portal.
8. Liability
The Committee makes every effort to ensure that the information published is accurate. Times, the programme, hotel rates and entry conditions are given for guidance and may change.
The portal may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance. The Committee cannot be held liable for loss resulting from a temporary unavailability.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Beninese law. Any dispute falls to the competent courts of Cotonou, after an attempt at amicable settlement.
